Introduction to Reloading and Reloading Safety
· Describe the firing process
· Explain the reloading process
· Explain why people reload
· Name and explain the fundamental safety rules for reloading
LESSON II - (1 hr)
Venue - Classroom
Center-fire Cartridge Components
· Give the proper nomenclature for center-fire cartridge components:
o Cases
o Primers
o Powder, and
o Bullets
· State and explain the proper handling and storage procedures for cartridge components
LESSON III - (1 hr)
Venue - Classroom
Using the Reloading Manual and Reloading Data
· Select a suitable load for a particular cartridge from a reloading manual
· Identify useful ballistics information in reloading manuals
LESSON IV - (1 hr)
Venue – Classroom
The Metallic Cartridge Reloading Equipment
At the conclusion of this lesson instructor candidates will be able to:
· Identify the equipment necessary to reload metallic cartridges
· Explain the proper operation and maintenance or reloading equipment
· Explain the requirements for a basic reloading bench
